 1. Introduction

The device dynamically changes attenuating metal (Al and Pb) foils on the front of proportional detector at B2 station in Hasylab/DESY.
The aim is to simplify adjustment procedures as well as enable measurements of high intensity reflections (e.g. small angle scattering), including direct beam.
You can adjust attenuation in wide range: 100 attenuating combinations are allowed (see "Attenuation wheels - hardware description" section below) from 0 (no foils) up to 2.5mmPb + 0.45mmAl (pretty beam stop). User defined socket is available.
